I did a few head shots for Rachel a while back (here) so she could send them out to agency's.
Well she already got a call back from a few and one for a catalogue model!!

She needed a few more shots so here they are. For a 20 minute shoot with the sun setting so fast I managed to get a few I love :)

The make up she does..

Amanda Rankin is a good friend of mine that I am going to be working with alot more. I asked her if she wanted to help me out and make me look pretty for a (just for fun) shoot that I was attempting to model in.

She amazes and scares me a little at the same time. The girl is SUCH a perfectionist, which is why she is so good. She went to Complexions in Toronto, and has come out and started working on movie sets in and around Toronto already.

The little black dress

So I bought a new dress and it was kinda pricey, verging on inappropriately expensive. I think it kinda crossed the line a little, but it was pretty and now I have it. Any girl will admit that it is a horrible feeling to walk away from a dress (or shoes) that just make you feel so pretty inside.

The money killed me a little so I made it a mission to wear it as much as possible....annnnd take pictures of it to let the memory live on when its not so pretty anymore. I felt it would only be fitting. Soooo one wedding down (one more to go) and a photoshoot.

I wanted it to be pretty, massively girly and creepy....just because I like creepy things.

So heres half the dress.

Shawn bought an amazing lighting set up and I knew he would want to use it, so I dragged him into my pretty dress pictures. BUT I have more pictures to come to show you how amazing Amanda Rankin is, she did my make up which just made the idea so perfect and "doll like".

So thank you to the both of you, for humouring me and my dress.

Huron at the Rivoli

I've been talking to these guys for a bit about shooting some live shots of their band Huron (soon to be called something else I think.) After me and my camera got drenched at the first attempt, I got an email about a show at the Rivoli in Toronto!! So I packed up and borrowed my moms car because mines useless, got a $60 dollar parking ticket but made it and loved their show!!

I found myself dancing as I was watching them, they are awesome and serious musicians.

I haven't stopped listening to them since the show.

Magic light...

This weekend was one of those weekends where I look back knowing I had so much fun, and also remind my friends to let me know when I'm going a little too crazy. There are pictures to prove it, but then again they are right along with me and I love them for it.

I did however, run into something that I am completely intrigued with, but I'm going to have to see how it all plays out. We will see, we will see...

Picture wise I was very busy, one falling through, one popping up out of no where, and Amanda's, my gorgeous friend who shocked me beyond belief, the pictures turned out so soft and beautiful I cannot stop looking at them.

She is stunning!!

I am...

I never understand how people come up with the excuses they use. Especially when the justification has nothing to do with themselves, but is directed towards you and your faults. In comes the blame, and this is the weirdest reason for an awkward moment I just had.

I was actually offended by someone calling me a good girl, it sent me off into a fury of defence and you don't know me's. And all in all, it was a good thing being used in a way I did not like. Excuses where none is warranted drive me insane.

A word to the wise, lets stop talking in round about ways and just say what it really is. Please

Am I....or am I not...

I have had this idea for a while, with many words and phrases floating around in my head. But after my weekend, this was the perfect word/words.

Do I really need a flash...

Its times like these that I question spending so much money on a flash.

Don't get me wrong, every time I do not have one, I cry a little inside when I know a picture could be that much better with a little extra umpf from a flash.....but nothing beats the beauty of natural light.

Its these types of pictures (of baby Domenica) that make me love taking pictures so much more. Ohhh the moments...

Just a note...

Ok so there is no picture being uploaded with this one, but I am shooting all weekend!! Some just of friends...others for favours, but you will see them all.

Im writing because I am super excited...I have never actually shot anything with an on camera flash before, but just got off the phone with Burlington Camera and they are actually allowing me to rent one for 3 days!!!! (I was in desperate need of one for a shoot on Sunday) and because of the long weekend I get an extra day for free to shoot all the long weekend fun.

Is it weird to rent? lol
Im crying a little inside looking at everything I want online all day so far. Oh money..

Anyway...just so you know, the picture of me (my profile pic) I did not take. A friend of mine Shawn Marshall took a few....sooooo much fun and they turned out so well.
